Uzbekistan Visa for Pakistanis (2026): e-Visa Eligibility, Fee, Documents & Processing

Quick answer

Pakistanis need a visa for Uzbekistan in 2026; there is no visa-free entry for Pakistani ordinary passports. Uzbekistan's tourist e-visa costs USD 20 for 30 days on e-visa.gov.uz, but we could not confirm that Pakistan is on the e-visa list. Check the portal's nationality list first; if Pakistan is missing, apply at the Uzbek Embassy in Islamabad.

Chapter 02

Can Pakistanis get an Uzbekistan visa in 2026?

Yes, Pakistanis can visit Uzbekistan in 2026 with a visa, but not visa free. Pakistan does not appear on Uzbekistan's visa-free lists, on its conditional visa-free categories (such as travellers aged 55+ in some groups), or on its 5-day visa-free transit scheme (Wikipedia summary of Uzbek visa policy, secondary).

The e-visa question. Many Pakistani travel sites advertise an "Uzbekistan e-visa for Pakistanis". Our check found a conflict:

  • Uzbekistan launched the tourist e-visa on 15 July 2018 and extended it to 76 more countries from 1 February 2019. Pakistan was not on that 2019 list (Gazeta.uz, 5 January 2019).
  • The current reference list of e-visa nationalities we checked also does not include Pakistan (Wikipedia, secondary).
  • The official portal, e-visa.gov.uz, is a JavaScript application our tools could not read, so we could not see its live nationality list.

What to do: open e-visa.gov.uz and check whether "Pakistan" appears in the citizenship list. If it does, apply there. If it does not, apply through the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad. Do not pay a website that only "looks official".

Possible change: in April 2025, Uzbekistan's President proposed simplifying visas for tourists from Pakistan, India, Egypt and Iran (Gazeta.uz, 9 April 2025). We found no published decree for Pakistan as of 13 October 2026. Check our Uzbekistan visa status page for updates.

Chapter 03

How much is the Uzbekistan visa fee for Pakistanis?

The Uzbekistan tourist e-visa costs USD 20 for a single-entry 30-day visa for eligible nationalities. Double-entry and multiple-entry e-visas were introduced at USD 35 and USD 50 in 2019 (Gazeta.uz). The embassy visa fee for Pakistani nationals is not published online.

Agency prices you see online usually bundle the visa, a service charge and sometimes a tour voucher. Ask for the official fee to be shown separately. See Uzbekistan visa fee details and our fees page.

Chapter 04

What documents do Pakistanis need for an Uzbekistan visa?

For the e-visa, you upload a passport scan and a photo, and enter your travel details. For an embassy application and for FIA checks in Pakistan, prepare a fuller file:

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months, with the old passports
  • Recent passport photos on a white background
  • CNIC copy and Family Registration Certificate (FRC) from NADRA when travelling as a family
  • Return ticket and hotel bookings for every night (genuine and cancellable is fine)
  • Day-by-day itinerary (Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and so on)
  • Bank statement for the last 6 months and a bank maintenance letter
  • Travel insurance
  • Polio vaccination certificate from NADRA for departure from Pakistan

Whether the Embassy also asks for an invitation letter or tour voucher from an Uzbek tour operator is not published.

If you are employed

  • Salary certificate, employer NOC with leave dates, salary-credit bank statement

If you run a business

  • Business NTN, Chamber of Commerce or SECP registration; business bank statement

If you are a student

  • Enrolment letter or student card; parent's sponsorship letter, CNIC and bank statement

If you are a housewife or dependent

  • Spouse's sponsorship letter and bank statement; nikah nama and FRC

If you are retired

  • Pension book or pension credits; property or savings documents

If you are a freelancer

  • Bank statement showing foreign remittances; FBR tax return; client contracts

Chapter 05

How do you apply, step by step?

  1. Check eligibility with our eligibility checker and on e-visa.gov.uz.
  2. If Pakistan is listed: fill the form on e-visa.gov.uz, upload your photo and passport scan, pay USD 20 by card, and download the e-visa.
  3. If Pakistan is not listed: contact the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad for the current form, fee and document list, then submit your passport and file.
  4. Book genuine, cancellable hotels and a return ticket.
  5. Before flying, print everything and follow our offloading checklist.

Chapter 06

How long does an Uzbekistan visa take?

For the e-visa, travellers are told to apply at least three days before the trip (Wikipedia, secondary). The embassy processing time for Pakistanis is not published. Allow two to three weeks for an embassy application.

Chapter 07

Why do Uzbekistan visas get refused (and how to avoid it)?

Uzbekistan visa problems for Pakistanis usually come from applying on the wrong channel or with a weak trip file.

Problem How to fix it
Paying a lookalike "e-visa" website Use only e-visa.gov.uz or the Embassy
Applying for an e-visa your nationality cannot get Check the portal's nationality list first
Unclear purpose or no hotel bookings Give a city-by-city itinerary with bookings
Weak funds or sudden deposits Show 6 months of normal statements
Photo or passport scan rejected Follow the portal's photo rules exactly

Chapter 08

What happens at the airport? (FIA and arrival checks)

FIA immigration in Pakistan checks visit-visa travellers before departure, and Central Asia trips by young first-time travellers are often questioned. The FIA FAQ lists a valid passport, return ticket, confirmed hotel booking with advance payment, sufficient funds and a sound profile; government employees need a departmental NOC. Dawn reported over 66,000 travellers offloaded in 2025 (Dawn, 18 December 2025), and since October 2026 major airports run pre-immigration document checks, including travel insurance (trips.pk citing Express Tribune). Follow our offloading checklist. Nobody can promise you will not be stopped; a complete, genuine file is the best preparation.

In Uzbekistan, foreign visitors must be registered at their place of stay; hotels normally do this for you. Keep hotel registration slips until you leave.

Chapter 09

Pakistanis living in the UAE or Saudi Arabia

Uzbekistan visa rules depend on nationality, so Pakistanis in the UAE or Saudi Arabia face the same e-visa question. If e-visa.gov.uz does not accept Pakistani nationality, apply at the Uzbek embassy or consulate in your country of residence with your Emirates ID or iqama and residence visa. Direct flights from the Gulf to Tashkent make this a common route.

Frequently asked questions

Is Uzbekistan visa free for Pakistanis in 2026?

No. Pakistani ordinary passport holders need a visa for Uzbekistan in 2026. Pakistan is not on Uzbekistan's visa-free lists, including the conditional visa-free categories for certain age groups and the 5-day transit scheme.

Can Pakistanis apply for the Uzbekistan e-visa?

We could not confirm it. Uzbekistan's published e-visa country lists that we checked do not include Pakistan, while some travel sites say Pakistanis can apply. The official portal, e-visa.gov.uz, decides: if Pakistan is not in its nationality list, apply through the Uzbek Embassy in Islamabad.

What is the Uzbekistan e-visa fee?

The single-entry 30-day tourist e-visa costs USD 20 for eligible nationalities, and double and multiple-entry e-visas were introduced at USD 35 and USD 50 in 2019, according to Gazeta.uz. Use only e-visa.gov.uz to pay.

How long does an Uzbekistan e-visa take?

Travellers are advised to apply at least three days before the trip. No official processing time for Pakistani applicants is published.

Can Pakistanis transit through Tashkent without a visa?

Not under the 5-day visa-free transit scheme, which covers other nationalities. A short transit visa of up to 72 hours is reported to be available to all nationalities; confirm it with the Uzbek Embassy before booking.

Did Uzbekistan announce easier visas for Pakistanis?

In April 2025 Uzbekistan's President proposed simplifying visas for tourists from Pakistan, India, Egypt and Iran, Gazeta.uz reported. No specific rule, fee or start date for Pakistan was announced in that report.

Can Pakistanis in the UAE or Saudi Arabia get an Uzbekistan visa?

Visa eligibility is based on nationality, so Pakistanis in the Gulf follow the same rules. If the e-visa portal does not accept Pakistani nationality, apply at the Uzbek embassy or consulate in your country of residence.

Can I work in Uzbekistan on a tourist visa?

No. Working on a visit visa is illegal in Uzbekistan and in Pakistan can lead to prosecution under the Emigration Ordinance.
