The Dubai visa for Pakistani passport holders is a pre-arranged UAE visit visa. You cannot get one on arrival. It is issued electronically by Dubai's General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) or by the federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), always through a UAE sponsor. For a standard tourist visa, that sponsor is a UAE-licensed tourism company, so Pakistanis apply through a travel agent connected to one.

The full breakdown is on our Dubai visa fee page for Pakistanis.

Chapter 02
Can Pakistanis get a Dubai visa in 2026?
Yes. Pakistanis can get a Dubai visit visa in 2026, but only through a registered travel agent and with a complete, genuine file. On 1 August 2026, a UAE embassy official told Arab News that "visas are open through travel agents for ordinary passports". The same report said families, and people joining relatives in the UAE, were getting timely decisions.
This followed a hard period. In late 2025, Pakistani agents told Dawn that 70–80% of first-time and single-entry Dubai applications were being refused. On 27 November 2025, an interior ministry official told a Senate committee that the UAE was issuing visas mainly to blue and diplomatic passport holders (Dawn). The UAE embassy denied any ban at the time and still does.
What this means for you in October 2026:
- There is no official ban. Both governments say so.
- Scrutiny is higher than before 2024. Pakistan's foreign ministry has said forged degrees and employment documents led to stricter background checks (Arab News, 1 August 2026).
- Family applications do best. Families and visitors to UAE-resident relatives are reported to be moving most smoothly.
- Single first-time travellers face the most risk. This is especially true for young men with little travel history.
We keep a dated status log on our page Is Dubai visa open for Pakistanis?.
Chapter 03
How much is the Dubai visa fee for Pakistanis?
The official Dubai visa fee for Pakistanis is AED 200 plus 5% VAT (AED 210) for a 30-day single-entry tourist visa, and AED 300 plus VAT (AED 315) for 60 days. These are GDRFA Dubai's listed fees on 13 October 2026. Pakistanis pay the same official fee as any other nationality.
What you actually pay is made up of three parts:
| Part | What it is | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Official visa fee | GDRFA or ICP fee, plus VAT | AED 210 (30 days) or AED 315 (60 days), single entry |
| UAE charges set by the sponsor | Mandatory health insurance, plus the UAE tourism company's own charge | Not published as a fixed figure; varies by sponsor |
| Our service fee | File review, application, follow-up | Quote on WhatsApp (30 days) / Quote on WhatsApp (60 days) |
Be careful with "all-inclusive" prices quoted in PKR. Many are based on 2023–2024 fees, and most do not tell you which part is the government fee. See the full Dubai visit visa price breakdown from Pakistan and our general visa fees page.
Chapter 04
Which UAE visa should a Pakistani choose?

Most Pakistani visitors need either the 30-day or the 60-day single-entry tourist visa. Choose based on your trip:
- 30-day single entry: a holiday, a family visit of up to a month, or a short business meeting.
- 60-day single entry: a longer family stay, for example parents visiting children in Dubai.
- Multiple entry (30 or 60 days): you plan to leave and come back, such as a side trip to Oman, within the visa period.
- 5-year multiple entry: frequent visitors with strong finances. It needs a 6-month bank statement showing USD 4,000 or more and an AED 3,000 refundable deposit (GDRFA). The UAE ambassador confirmed on 8 April 2025 that Pakistanis can apply for it (Dawn).
- Relative or friend visit: a UAE resident sponsors you directly. ICP lists minimum sponsor salaries of AED 4,000 for first-degree relatives, AED 8,000 for second- and third-degree relatives and AED 15,000 for friends (ICP).

Chapter 05
What documents do Pakistanis need for a Dubai visa?
For a Dubai tourist visa, GDRFA asks for a passport copy valid for at least six months, one photo, and, for Pakistani nationals specifically, a copy of the national identity card (CNIC). The terms also require a ticket to leave the UAE and valid UAE health insurance (GDRFA).
Since 2025, sponsors and agents ask Pakistani applicants for more than the official minimum, because the sponsor carries the risk if a visitor overstays. Expect to provide:
- Passport (6+ months valid) and a clear photo with a white background
- CNIC copy, front and back
- Confirmed return air ticket
- Hotel booking, or your host's address, Emirates ID copy and tenancy contract
- Recent bank statement in your name
- Proof of your ties to Pakistan: salary certificate, business registration, or student card
- For families: family registration certificate (FRC) from NADRA and nikah nama
Requirements differ by applicant type. Here is a summary. The full checklist is on our Dubai visa requirements page.
If you are employed
Add a salary certificate or employment letter on company letterhead, an approved leave letter or NOC, and 3–6 months of salary slips. A bank statement showing salary credits helps. Government employees need a departmental NOC, and FIA asks to see the original at the airport (FIA FAQ).
If you run a business
Add your NTN certificate or latest FBR tax return, business registration (SECP certificate, partnership deed or Chamber of Commerce membership), and a business bank statement alongside your personal one.
If you are a student
Add your student ID card and an enrolment letter. A parent's bank statement can be used if it is backed by the parent's CNIC and your FRC. Students usually travel with family, which is the stronger profile in 2026.
If you are a housewife or dependent
Travel with or be sponsored by your husband or family. Add your nikah nama, your husband's CNIC and documents, and the FRC. A dependent's file is assessed largely on the main earner's file.
If you are retired
Add a pension book or pension slip and a bank statement showing regular pension credits. Retired parents visiting children in the UAE often use the relative-sponsor route.
If you are a freelancer
Add proof of your income source: client contracts or invoices, a bank statement showing foreign remittances (PRCs help), and an NTN with your FBR return if you file one. Unexplained large deposits weaken a file.
Tip: tap an item to tick it off. Your ticks stay on this device.
Chapter 06
How much bank balance do you need for a Dubai visa?
There is no official minimum bank balance for a 30- or 60-day Dubai tourist visa. GDRFA does not publish one. Two official figures exist nearby:
- 5-year visa: USD 4,000 or equivalent over the last six months (GDRFA).
- At the Pakistani airport: FIA's FAQ says visit-visa travellers should carry sufficient funds, "e.g. at least 2000 EUR for Dubai", and that a credit card limit is acceptable (FIA).
Separately, UAE-side travel agents told Khaleej Times in May 2024 that visitors should carry about AED 3,000 in cash or on a card. That is news reporting, not a published rule. The principle that matters: your balance should comfortably cover the trip and match your income. A sudden large deposit just before applying looks worse than a modest, steady balance.
Chapter 07
How to apply for a Dubai visa from Pakistan, step by step

- Check your profile. Use our eligibility checker or speak to us. Single first-time travellers should know the refusal risk before paying.
- Choose the visa type: 30 or 60 days, single or multiple entry, or the relative route.
- Collect documents from the requirements checklist. Scan them in colour.
- Book a refundable return ticket and a real hotel booking. Cancellable bookings are fine. Fake or unpaid bookings are a serious refusal and fraud risk.
- Submit through a registered agent. The agent files with a UAE-licensed tourism sponsor on the GDRFA or ICP system, and the official fee is paid there.
- Wait for the decision. GDRFA's target is 48 hours. Allow up to two weeks for Pakistani files. The sponsoring agent or company can track it on the ICP or GDRFA system and share the e-visa PDF with you.
- Receive the e-visa as a PDF. Check that your name, passport number and dates match your passport exactly.
- Prepare for the airport: printed visa, return ticket, hotel booking, funds, and OK-to-board if your airline requires it.

Chapter 08
How long does a Dubai visa take for Pakistanis?
GDRFA Dubai states an expected completion time of 48 hours for tourist visas. For Pakistani applicants in 2025–26, decisions have often taken longer, because files go through additional security checks. Apply at least 10–14 days before travel and do not buy non-refundable tickets until the visa is issued. After issue, you must enter the UAE within 60 days (ICP).
Chapter 09
Why Dubai visas get refused (and how to avoid it)
Dubai visa refusals for Pakistanis in 2025–26 have come mainly from risk profiling, weak finances and document doubts. UAE refusals usually give no detailed reason. The common causes reported by agents and officials are:
| Cause | How to reduce the risk |
|---|---|
| Single, first-time traveller with no travel history | Travel with family if possible; show strong ties to Pakistan (employer, business, property) |
| Weak or unexplained finances | Use a steady bank statement in your own name that matches your income |
| Doubts about documents (degrees, employment letters) | Submit only genuine, verifiable documents. Pakistan's foreign ministry cited forged documents as the reason for stricter checks |
| Previous overstay or violation in the UAE | Clear any fines; disclose history honestly. Overstay fines are AED 50 a day (ICP) |
| Errors or mismatches in the application | Match spelling to your passport exactly; check CNIC number and dates |

Chapter 10
What happens at the airport? (FIA and arrival checks)
At the Pakistani airport, FIA immigration checks that you are a genuine visitor before you leave. FIA's FAQ lists a valid passport, return ticket, confirmed hotel booking with advance payment, sufficient funds and a "sound profile" (FIA). In October 2024, Pakistani authorities also told airlines that visit-visa passengers should hold a return ticket on the same airline and PNR, with Dubai named as a focus route (ARY News). We could not confirm how strictly this is enforced in 2026.
Carry printed copies of:
- the e-visa
- the return ticket
- the hotel booking or host's details
- your bank statement and card
- your employment or business documents
OK to board: some airlines flying from Pakistan to the UAE ask for an "OK to board" message on your booking before check-in, mainly when you travel on an e-visa copy. Ask your airline or agent at least 48 hours before departure.
Before you fly: FIA runs pre-departure facilitation desks at its zonal offices, where you can get your documents checked (Dawn, 5 January 2026).
On arrival in Dubai: UAE immigration can still refuse entry. In 2024, UAE-side agents reported visitors being asked for a return ticket, accommodation proof and about AED 3,000 in funds (Khaleej Times). Follow our offloading checklist before you travel.

Chapter 11
Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia or elsewhere in the Gulf
If you are a Pakistani living in Saudi Arabia or another GCC country, you still need a pre-arranged UAE visa on a Pakistani passport. The same tourist visa routes apply. Your residence permit (iqama), employment letter and bank statement from your country of residence usually make a stronger file than one prepared from Pakistan. If you live in the UAE already, you do not need a visit visa, but you can sponsor relatives from Pakistan under the ICP salary thresholds listed above.
Transit: reports in February 2026 claimed that 48- and 96-hour UAE transit visas were suspended for Pakistanis. Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE denied this (Daily Times, 14 February 2026). Confirm with Emirates or Etihad before planning to leave the airport.
Chapter 12
Dubai vs. similar destinations for Pakistanis
| Destination | Visa type for Pakistanis | Difficulty in 2026 | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai / UAE | Sponsored e-visa via agent | Moderate to hard for single first-timers; easier for families | Family visits, shopping, short holidays |
| Azerbaijan (Baku) | Online e-visa | Generally simpler | First international trip |
| Malaysia | e-visa | Moderate | Budget holiday |
| Thailand | e-visa | Moderate; finances checked | Holiday |
| Saudi Arabia | Visit or Umrah visa | Depends on route | Umrah plus family visit |
After a Dubai refusal, a destination with a simpler e-visa may be the better first trip. A clean travel record helps your next Dubai application.
Chapter 13
Frequently asked questions
Is Dubai visa open for Pakistanis in October 2026?
Yes. UAE visit visas are being issued to ordinary Pakistani passport holders who apply through registered travel agents, according to a UAE embassy official quoted by Arab News on 1 August 2026. There is no official ban, but checks are stricter than before 2024 and single first-time applicants still face more refusals than families.
How much is the Dubai visa fee for Pakistanis in 2026?
The official GDRFA Dubai fee for a 30-day single-entry tourist visa is AED 200 plus 5% VAT (AED 210), and AED 300 plus VAT (AED 315) for 60 days, as listed on 13 October 2026. Health insurance and the sponsor's or agent's service fee are added on top.
Can a Pakistani apply for a Dubai visit visa directly online?
Usually not. A standard UAE tourist visa must be sponsored by a UAE-licensed tourism company, airline, hotel or a resident relative, so Pakistanis apply through an agent working with such a sponsor. The 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa is the exception: GDRFA issues it without a UAE sponsor.
Is there an age limit for a Dubai visa for Pakistanis?
No official age limit exists in any UAE government source we checked on 13 October 2026. Travel agents and Dawn (28 November 2025) reported that single men under about 40 faced the highest refusal rates, which is a reported pattern, not a published rule.
How long does a Dubai visa take for Pakistanis?
GDRFA Dubai lists an expected completion time of 48 hours for tourist visas. In practice, Pakistani applications in 2025 and 2026 have often taken several days or longer because of extra security checks, so apply at least two weeks before your flight.
How much money do I need for a Dubai visit visa from Pakistan?
No official minimum balance is published for the 30- or 60-day tourist visa. The 5-year visa requires a bank balance of USD 4,000 over the past six months (GDRFA), and Pakistan's FIA says visit-visa travellers to Dubai should carry sufficient funds, for example at least EUR 2,000 or a credit card limit.
Do I need a return ticket for Dubai on a visit visa?
Yes. GDRFA lists a ticket to leave the UAE as a condition of the tourist visa, and FIA checks return tickets at Pakistani airports. Book a confirmed return, ideally on the same airline and PNR as your outbound flight.
Is the Dubai 96-hour transit visa available for Pakistanis?
This is unclear as of 13 October 2026. Reports in February 2026 said 48- and 96-hour transit visas were suspended for Pakistanis, and Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE denied it. Check with your airline (Emirates or Etihad) before planning to leave the airport.
Can my brother or relative in Dubai sponsor my visit visa?
Yes, a UAE resident can sponsor a relative's visit visa. ICP lists minimum sponsor salaries of AED 4,000 for first-degree relatives, AED 8,000 for second- and third-degree relatives and AED 15,000 for friends, plus a refundable security deposit (AED 1,000 single entry, AED 2,000 multiple entry).
Can I work in Dubai on a visit visa?
No. Working on a visit visa is illegal in the UAE and in Pakistan can lead to prosecution under the Emigration Ordinance. We only assist genuine visitors.
