Chapter 02
Is the Dubai visit visa open for Pakistanis today?
Yes. The Dubai visit visa is open for Pakistanis today, through registered travel agents. On 1 August 2026, a UAE embassy official told Arab News that "visas are open through travel agents for ordinary passports". The official added that applicants with complete documents could apply without difficulty. Our last check on 13 October 2026 found no official statement reversing this, and GDRFA Dubai's tourist visa service is live with fees listed.
"Open" does not mean easy. Recovery is partial. A senior Pakistani immigration official told Arab News that daily passengers from Pakistan to Dubai rose from about 170 earlier in summer 2026 to about 400 by late July, against nearly 1,000 a day two years earlier.

Was there ever a UAE visa ban on Pakistanis?
No formal ban has been announced at any point. The UAE embassy has denied one repeatedly (Khaleej Times, 27 November 2025). The confusion comes from two things:
- Very high refusal rates. In November 2025, Karachi agents told Dawn that up to 70–80% of first-time and single-entry Dubai applications were refused.
- A Senate statement. On 27 November 2025, an additional interior secretary told a Senate committee that the UAE was issuing visas mainly to blue and diplomatic passport holders (Dawn).
Pakistan's foreign ministry later linked the stricter checks to forged degrees, diplomas and employment contracts, and to legal cases against some Pakistanis in the UAE (Arab News).

Who is getting Dubai visas in 2026, and who is struggling?
Families and people visiting relatives in the UAE are getting Dubai visas most reliably in 2026. Single first-time travellers, especially young men, are refused most often.

Age: we found no official age limit. A Lahore agency told an applicant that those "under 40" faced higher scrutiny (Dawn, 28 November 2025). A Pakistani agency's status page updated on 2 October 2026 says under-40 individuals are processed but approved at low rates (dubaivisa.pk, not an official source).
Gender: we found no rule restricting Pakistani women.
City: no official list exists. Some agencies claim applicants from certain districts are refused more often. The UAE embassy official speaking to Arab News mentioned "localised delays" for safety and security reasons.

Is the Dubai transit visa open for Pakistanis?
The status of the 48- and 96-hour UAE transit visas for Pakistanis is unclear as of 13 October 2026. In February 2026, social media posts claimed these visas had been suspended for Pakistani nationals. Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE, Shafqat Ali Khan, told Dawn "It's not true" (Daily Times, 14 February 2026). Some Pakistani agencies still list transit visas as suspended. If your trip depends on leaving the airport during a layover, confirm with Emirates or Etihad first.

Frequently asked questions
Is Dubai visa open for Pakistanis today?
Yes. As of 13 October 2026, UAE visit visas are open to ordinary Pakistani passport holders who apply through registered travel agents. A UAE embassy official confirmed this to Arab News on 1 August 2026, and we have found no official announcement reversing it since.
Has the UAE banned visas for Pakistanis?
No. The UAE embassy in Pakistan and Pakistan's government have repeatedly said there is no ban on UAE visas for Pakistani citizens. What happened in 2024–2026 was much stricter screening and high refusal rates, not a formal ban.
Is Dubai visa open for single males from Pakistan?
Single men can apply, as no official rule bars them. However, agents told Dawn in November 2025 that first-time single applicants faced refusal rates of 70–80%, and family applications remain the strongest category in 2026.
Is Dubai visa open for Pakistani women?
Yes. We found no official UAE rule restricting visit visas for Pakistani women by age or marital status as of 13 October 2026. Women travelling with family or visiting UAE-resident relatives use the same routes as men.
Is the Dubai 96-hour transit visa open for Pakistanis?
Unclear as of 13 October 2026. Reports in February 2026 said 48- and 96-hour transit visas were suspended for Pakistanis, Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE denied it, and some Pakistani agencies still list transit visas as suspended. Confirm with Emirates or Etihad before relying on one.
Are some Pakistani cities blocked for Dubai visas?
No official city restriction has been published. Some agencies report higher refusal rates for applicants from certain districts, and a UAE embassy official referred to localised delays for safety and security reasons (Arab News, 1 August 2026), but no city list exists in any official source.
